Sustainability as the new standard at the Holiday Inn
The Holiday Inn is ideally located next to the historic Burgtor and the picturesque river Trave, just a few minutes' walk from the Old Town. The extensive breakfast menu caters for vegetarians and vegans. Relax in the hotel's beautiful heated pool and spacious spa.
As well as offering comfort, Holiday Inn is also committed to sustainability:
The hotel's trainees were given a special project during the Corona period: they built several insect hotels directly behind the hotel using materials such as euro pallets or tree trimmings that would otherwise have been disposed of.
The team around hotel manager Christian Schmidt is actively involved in Lübeck's sustainability offensive. Solar cells on the hotel's roof generate electricity and plastic, for example for key cards, is largely avoided.
The hotel also uses intelligent waste analysis. An intelligent waste scale with camera records what goes into the rubbish, allowing the purchasing department to optimise order quantities - both financially and ecologically.
Another example of sustainable use of resources is creative recycling. Discarded bathtubs have been turned into raised beds in the hotel's own herb garden or donated as drinking troughs to a charity that cares for horses, ponies and donkeys.
