St. Anne’s Museum in Lübeck

Lübeck

The St. Anne’s museum district combines the history, art and present of this Hanseatic city.

In Lübeck’s St. Anne's Museum and St. Anne's Art Gallery, visitors can experience modern and historical exhibition rooms, courtyards, gardens and the late Gothic cloister dating back to 1512. The entire breadth of Lübeck’s history is on display. Visitors will find cultural treasures of inestimable value, including the unique collection of ecclesiastic artworks shown in their authentic location of the former monastery. The upper floor of the 500-year old Monastery of St. Anne’s offers visitors a sequence of 25 exhibition rooms showing an example of the kind of furniture the citizens of Lübeck surrounded themselves with, how they decorated their living rooms, laid their tables, how they dressed and celebrated and what their values and standards of coexistence were in everyday life.

With the opening of the children's art gallery as part of the "Hello Lübeck" exhibition, the Kunsthalle St. Annen is putting the focus on young people. It'll be an integral part of all future exhibitions. The exhibition offers children and young people a great opportunity to experience art in a sensory way.
