St. Peter's Church

Lübeck

The viewing platform offers the best view over Lübeck all the way to the Baltic Sea.

The three-nave Romanesque church was built between 1227 and 1250 and extended in the 15th and 16th centuries to become a five-nave Gothic hall church. Destroyed in the Second World War, the reconstruction was not completed until 1987.
St. Petri is a very special church that uses its fantastic space for dialogue between fine arts and science. On the first Saturday of every month, late at 11.00 pm, St. Petri hosts nightly themed performances with religious and artistic elements under the title "Petrivisions".
The current programme is available online here. An arts and crafts market is held here at Christmas time.
