Description
Detailed description
Directly on the Wakenitz River, the school garden was first established in 1913 to introduce school children to horticultural work and applied biology. After World War II, the garden was restored and can now be visited free of charge as a botanical garden. Colorful perennial beds alternate here with themed gardens such as the Alpinum or near-natural biotopes such as ponds and meadows with over 70 plant species - a green oasis within walking distance of the Old Town Island.
A map for download is available here.
Our cultural magazine Lübeck ZWISCHENZEILEN offers an interesting blog article about the school garden. Please also have a look at our video.
