UPCYCLING IN THE HOTEL
HOTEL DIE REEDERIN
The benches in the hotel restaurant were made from wall panelling and the headboards from the sliding doors on the fitted archive cupboards belonging to the previous shipping company owners. Thanks to this use of upcycling, the old doors are given a new, long-term lease of life. In addition, the hotel exudes Scandinavian flair and timeless style through its reuse and refurbishment of items of furniture from Sweden and Denmark.
In Die Reederin Hotel, the focus is on sustainability. Since the hotel opened in 2021, the owner has been actively committed to the prudent treatment of resources as this is a subject close to her heart. Guests are encouraged to act sustainably, e.g. by using the Everything Off switch at the door to their room. Towels are not changed unnecessarily during mid-stay cleaning, and at breakfast food is served unpackaged to reduce waste.
