SPEEDS / BRIDGES PÖTENITZER WIEK
Pötenitzer Wiek
Skippers are advised that a maximum speed of 8 km/h (4.3 knots) applies on this stretch of water. This is indicated by 8 km/h signs at the respective entrances to Pötenitzer Wiek (southern tip of Priwall and northern shore of Teschower Spitze).
TRAVE AND LÜBECK HARBOUR SHIPPING LANE
Between Priwall Südspitze and light pole 20, the speed limit is 15 km/h (8.1 kn), even outside the Trave fairway.
Please note that in the waterskiing area in the Große Holzwiek, marked by yellow barrels, the speed limit is only lifted for waterskiing boats with waterskiers attached.
From light pole 20 to the Lübeck harbour boundary, which is the southern tip of Teerhofinsel and the entrance to Petroleumhafen, the speed limit is 12 km/h (6.5 kn).
The maximum speed limit in the public harbour area of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck is 10 km/h, except for the waters of the Stadtgraben, the Obertrave (Stadttrave), the Hansahafen, the Wallhafen, and the Holstenhafen, where the maximum speed limit is 6 km/h.
The clearance heights of the bridges in Lübeck at medium water
level (level 5.00m) are 2.50m for the Hubbrücke (road) and 1.45m for the Hubbrücke (railway). To contact the bridge keeper, use VHF channel 18.
Bathing areas
Bathing areas are designated by round white buoys with a yellow cross on the seaward side.
When bathing in these areas, the speed limit is 8 km/h (4.3 knots). This limit also applies up to 500 m from the shoreline in the direction of the lake, even if the bathing area buoys are not in place but people are still bathing.

Additionally, motorised vehicles, water motorbikes, and surfing vehicles are prohibited within the buoyed bathing areas. Anchoring is also prohibited for all vehicles.
For the safety of all, please maintain a safe distance from bathing areas. It is common for unfamiliar swimmers to venture beyond the buoys.

Vessels with a draught of less than 3m should maintain a speed of 12 km/h (6.5 kn) between light pole 8 and light pole 20 (including outside the Trave fairway). NAVIGATION BANS / RESTRICTIONS / ANCHORING IN PÖTENITZER WIEK
Pötenitzer Wiek
Navigation is prohibited in this area from 15th February to 15th June, with the following exception: On Sundays and public holidays, this water area may be navigated from 11.00 a.m. on the previous working day until 9.00 a.m. on the following working day.
Anchoring is prohibited in the Pötenitzer Wiek, but two exceptions apply:
- Anchorage is only permitted within the boundary of the roughly rectangular area of water delimited by yellow barrels labelled 'Reede' in the Pötenitzer Wiek.
- On Sundays and public holidays, anchoring is also permitted in the Pötenitzer Wiek, even outside the 'Reede' buoys. During working days, from 11:00 pm to 9:00 am the following day, it is required to maintain a minimum distance of 100 metres from the shore of Lake Dassow nature reserve.
Lake Dassow nature reserve
Sports vessels, including motorised and non-motorised vessels and water sports equipment, are prohibited from using Lake Dassow. Exceptions to this rule are pleasure craft based in Dassow. However, they may only use the buoyed fairway and travel at a maximum speed of 4.3 knots.

Numerous signs on land indicate the prohibition of anchoring in this area, which is also clearly marked on sea maps. Please observe this no-anchoring zone. Recovering a snagged anchor can be costly, and the person responsible may be held liable.
