The mighty Gothic Old Town churches are a proud symbol of the town’s history, offering magnificent spaces for unique, pre-Christmas moments. At Advent, they offer lots of space for looking, wandering and browsing. International artists and artisans exhibit their wide-ranging products and unusual gift ideas, e.g. in St. Peter’s: jewellery, objets d’art of glass, copper and metal, fine woodwork, pottery and needlework, paintings and one-off pieces from natural materials. In St. Peter’s café, there are home-made cakes, regional snacks and drinks.

Every day, the churches offer a very special cultural experience with festive music. Choirs and instrumental groups bring joy with their Christmas repertoires, and the famous Lübeck organs fill the splendid naves with powerful sounds at top-class concerts.
