When the days get shorter, a very special time begins also in Travemünde. The seaside resort definitely has something to offer: three giant illuminated figures from the North, the #TRelche, wander grazing through the seaside resort and are probably the most beautiful selfie motif in the area. At small but nice Advent and Christmas markets you can warm your soul, stomach and hands during your walk along the Vorderreihe to the St. Lorenz Market in the Old town - everywhere you will find Christmas lights and maritime seaside charm. Or you feel the wind in your hair at the Nordermole - you are free. You are in Travemünde.
A small Christmas World with music, winter delicacies and a children’s ice-rink spring up in the cruise terminal and on Ostpreußen quay. The “Ship Ahoy” market is a real joint effort on the part of many Travemünde associations and is set up with much love and devotion.
The traditional ceremony on Christmas Eve at Alter Leuchtturm brings together visitors and residents who are all brimming with excitement over the imminent Christmas celebrations.
A highlight for small visitors: Father Christmas drives up in his coach with his angels, invites children for a ride and has a bag full of sweets in his sack. Christmas music contributes to a wonderful atmosphere against a unique backdrop!
The "Winter Magic by the Sea" invites you to stop off, warm up and stroll through a winter world in the Brügmanngarten. A cozy fire, delicious mulled wine and warm jazz sounds await you under the large tent roof on the beach promenade with a clear view of the icy Baltic Sea. In the adjoining tents there is winter cuisine and a fair area for children. A highlight for many is New Year's Eve under the starry sky where the sound of the sea is guaranteed.
