To help you get the most out of your visit, here are some tips for getting around Lübeck. Generally speaking, the weekends are particularly busy and the Christmas markets are always well attended. If you prefer things to be a little quieter, why not visit during the week? You can avoid detours and road works by taking public transport to Lübeck or simply park your car in one of the car parks outside the Old Town Island and take the shuttle bus to the markets.

Our popular Christmas markets can be easily reached on foot in about 15–20 minutes from the main train station and the ZOB bus station. Alternatively, you can get on a bus. Almost every line will take you straight to the Old Town island.

Our parking guidance system will take you directly to the available car parks around the Old Town. Please note that parking spaces quickly run out in the time before Christmas! Coaches can park in the designated car parks on the central Wallhalbinsel by the Music and Congress Hall. Additional capacity is available at the Lastadie car park, which is designated for coaches from 25 November to 30 December 2024 and will be closed to campervans during this period.
